Kanani often shares about how the constant changes of this time have been managed within her ‘ohana through the rediscovery of the power of affirmations that is kept on the kitchen table in her home. Feel inspired and hopeful about the future as you find ways you can empower your ‘ohana, your staff, and most importantly, your beautiful self via this practice that she does in her own Hawaiian way.
Bio:
Kanani Aton was born and raised in Wahiawa, O’ahu, and has resided in Hilo on the East side of Hawaii Island for a very long time. She has served in the non-profit, private, and public sectors of her community as an advocate for native Hawaiian education, native Hawaiian well-being, and native Hawaiian community-based advancement. She also served the County of Hawaii as a public information officer for Civil Defense and for the Department of Water Supply. She serves on multiple Boards in her community and looks for opportunities to create a better world for those who live, work and play on Hawaii Island. She is a mother of 3 adult children from ages 18 through 24 and has a BA in English and a Master’s in Education. She loves writing poetry, and reflecting on cultural wisdom applied in modern day everyday living.
